Ok so it was the best FOB concert I have seen EVER and I will <3 them all forever.
They played 'she's my winona' for the first time live and they forgot the words in an adorable way. Then they had a sound hitch and Patrick told a story, but only after trying to get Pete to do it first. Pete was all `who wants to hear me talk' and then 'BUT WHO WANTS PATRICK TO TALK?' And there was a clear Patrick preference <3
He told a funny story which I will tell you later. But for now I just want to tell everyone how much I love their faces.

Real life blows hard, but shoes make it better
I have totally not been showing livejournal my usual love. Mostly because I come home at night and stare abjectly at the TV in a daze. I now also understand why cops/emergency services/anyone who deals with the public for prolonged periods becomes cynical and has a black sense of humour a mortician would blanch at.
Despite that? I enjoy my job. Weird ass bitch that I am, I find it all interesting. Huh.
But really? Shoes.
I have a night out in December, to which I will wear this dress. With black tights and a small feathery fascinator. But shoes. Red or black? I lean towards red. Thoughts? Pictures of your Christmas outfits? Moar pictures of hot dudes/ladies?

Christmas is well on its way, and dont I know it
I just bought some Christmas cards. Supercute cards, to be sure, but its not even Halloween yet. However Christmas spirit and its accompanying paranoia is already lodged in my brain.
I am choosing to blame work. It's not rough for me, but it could be quite emotional if I let it. So now when my mind wanders I'm already thinking about letterpress christmas cards and hmming over taking the handmade pledge. I think I will- between my own craftiness and cooking (I just put some orders down for preserving jars and bottles to replace those I've used) I will be able to both start early and avoid spending loads on crap presents nobody wants. Think chilli jelly with tiny sweet cards, homemade peanut brittle. Madiera cakes and praline cookies. In lovely sweet brown paper wrapped with string.
Hopefully I'll get loosed in the kitchen this Christmas, give my mum a break.
Of course its an extension of what I want for myself- that is for a sweet letterpress card and maybe a little 'Home Sweet Homo' cross-stitch. Old before my time and proud. Maybe a little gocco moleskein recipe notebook. I AM EASILY PLEASED.
(p.s Pressa Russa is where I got my cards. Just don't buy everything before I get paid again, you guys. also, cough cough, expect more rambles on this subject)

I have been a bad girl, you guys, I have not been posting or replying to comments or anything! I also haven't read my flist for three weeks or something- sorry!
Main reasons are that I got a new job that requires a lolarious commute and is actually quite..draining, right now. It will get better I think, and it is a better job and more suited for my temper and humour. The other is Adrienne! Is Living! With Me! YAY So basically I come in and we hang out and I forget to check the internet. Which, fail, because hey, look- LOTS OF NEW FIC. SOME OF IT IS EVEN BRENDON/SHANE. Must read.

After TAI, I went to Edinburgh and Newcastle to see Kill Hannah. Sadly Johnny Radtke pulled what my family calls a Frankie (because I hauled ass to Aberdeen to see them and he WASNT THERE. To understand the true scale of that tragedy, you have to to the many times I have tried to see them and FAILED and HOW MUCH I LOVE THEM). But Tom from Powerspace was filling in! He was very sweet and pretty. My crush on Greg, omg, has grown, and srsly he is hot. Also I have Dan's sharpie! His ran out while he was signing my ticket and I was all HERE HAVE MINE and he said ARE YOU SURE and I said YES OMG and then we swapped sharpies. <3 Also, plz to be noting. Caberet Voltaire is actually someone's CELLAR, and I AM SORRY I DIDN'T SAY HI BACK DAN I FAIL.

So yes, then, Adrienne and I went to see Melee on the 4th. It was in King Tuts Glasgow and there was srsly less than 100 people there. And some of those were there to see Meg and Dia, the support. Adrienne and walked RIGHT TO THE FRONT BARRIER IN THE MIDDLE. Which was nice, because Melee are very sweet boys and their album rules, okay. I got a setlist and they signed it, and then we chatted to Chris for a little bit (I always, always bail on those things because I am so awkward. Srsly if you are trying to have a convo with me, Chris Chron, stop being so cute and all ... eyelashy. HE RESTED HIS HEAD ON HIS HANDS AND WAS TALKING ABOUT BEDS AND HE HIGH FIVED ME I CANT HAVE A NORMAL CONVERSATION LIKE THAT especially not when I keep accidentally doing the eye-contact look away and smile thing by accident. Gosh.)
(all of that is also part of my 'oh they're just being friendly' thing, were someone actually asked me home and I believed it when he said he wanted to play Final Fantasy V. When he kissed me I was totally a) shocked and b) annoyed because I ACTUALLY WANTED TO PLAY MORE THAN I WANTED TO KISS HIM. Even if someone says to me 'you are so in there!' I never do anything. whatever. i suck)
Uh yeah. So anway, next week is FFAF (THE NEW ALBUM LEAKED ALREADY I HAVE LISTENED SRSLY FIFTY TIMES ALREADY) I will probably cry at it. Then FALL OUT BOY BITCHEZ! Who else is going? Let's meet and do like, dinner or something.

You know what? I love bandom. I love scene bands and punks and tiny emo boys.
But I love other things too.
This morning I have been listening to my other great musical love: Americana. By which I mean that lovely fusion of bluegrass, country and folk that groups like Calexico and Iron and Wine do so beautifully. It's the sort of sleepy music you would listen to in a tiny bar while you nursed your broken heart over a beer in some nameless midwestern town. The music you'd play as you drove away from your life in the failing light of day. If you lived in a tiny cabin in Maine.
It is so amazing.
So here are my favourites. I call it my 'broken hearted in maine mix'.
But I love other things too.

I have woken up and noticed
I am here, whooo! And still you know, alive and stuff.
I've been super-busy this month- more doctors and job interviews and stuff. Generally just getting on with stuff- falling madly for Homicide: Life on The Streets and Law and Order: Criminal Intent. Developing a massive old-guy crushes on Kyle Secor and Vincent D'Onoforio. Does anyone else go through phases where they can't be bothered with the internets?
ALSO DID I MENTION I HAVE GYM CLASS HEROES TONIGHT AND THE ACADEMY IS...ON MONDAY? MAYBE I DIDN'T OH WELL.
(also I have lost 5 kilos so far! which for me isa major thing because of the PCOS. SOO HAPPY)
