I'm beginning to understand why people in my work sector develop esoteric and time consuming hobbies: progess that while infinitely slow, is satisfyingly measureable. Sometimes you need an end in sight.

for some reason i'm reminded of a couple years back when i realized all those people writing fanfic - they *enjoyed* it. i didn't understand *why* they were writing it before that (though i was certainly appreciative of the slash!) because I've loathed writing all my life, and couldn't fathom someone doing so when not utterly obligated. i get it now, though.

er...what exactly do you mean by esoteric? you've got some strange folk in your sector, you have me worried now... *visions of slipshod home taxidermy and bellybutton lint collections in mason jars dance through head*
