Absenteeism is all part of my philosophy

So I'm here and still all alive and stuff.

My Grandad had a fairly major heart attack last week but we have been lucky and there is no permanent damage to his heart. He is back with us and being the same sarcastic old bugger he always is.

I have been unwell also- for the last year or so my periods had become light and irregular, which didn't bother me so much. But of late there has been hot flushes, bad skin, weight gain, excess hair. I've been tired and irritable. I also have some fairly bad back pain right now which tends to come on while sleeping. I finally called NHS 24 who told me I should see my GP within the week. So I did, and he is fairly certain that I have polycystic ovarian syndrome. For some women it never acts up  but for some it can make you produce excess testosterone and also it tends to  correlate with insulin resistance. The GP wants to do bloodwork for a hormone profile but we have to wait 21 days to do it because of my cycle (which is reaaallly long. 31 days or so).

I just want for my Grandad to be ok and for me to be not so goddamn hot all the time. For real, the minute I get stressed or something I start boiling in my skin.

That's him EXACTLY. We are two peas in a pod so I can't complain. Frankie has things to say about his dog staying with us but she'll get over it!

Thanks- yeah, I also want to know everything RIGHT NOW. Although I really could have done without the actual PHOTOS of cystic ovaries. Not pretty at ALL.

Right now I can't take any birth control- my weight is an issue there. I have to get my BMI down from 44 to 35. Somehow. Despite the fact that the PCOS may be what is causing my rapid weight gain since puberty. Sigh.
Optimistic about Ovaries! It's like a band name!

Next week I go to LONDON. I am going to stalk some bands (THE AUDITION Y/Y?)
